Took a air boat tour of the swamps just south of New Orleans. Warmer sunny weather is better for gator activity, this time of year can be hit or miss. Still was a great couple of hours, our guide was fun and informative. If I am back in the area when it is warmer, might just take another tour.
I am sure everyone has seen the tv shows about hunting alligators in the swamp. Our guide said the shows mostly show how hunting is normally done. The exemptions were they don’t name their alligators. Also, they bring the gator in slow, not to cause the gator to get riled up. So that gator splashing and fighting is the drama effect of the show.
