Been staying in the southern Mississippi this week, Salt Marsh and Bayous, basically wetlands. Has been interesting learning about the eco systems. Went for a 5 mile walk one day, was 95% humidity but only 65 degrees, still felt like a wet dishcloth when I was done, hate to be here in summer.
Went into Biloxi today, the downtown area is nice, but I think all the casinos take away from charm of this city, but that’s progress. Visited the Maritime and Seafood museum. This was really interesting, actually information overload. The seafood industry is what built this area. They also had an exhibit on hurricane Katrina, from the perspective of Biloxi, showing all the damage to the downtown area. I remember the hurricane sort of, but this gave a different perspective. Lastly, it makes you feel old when a museum has outboard motors that you had as a kid.
