Today was Jenny Lake day, probably one of the most popular areas in the park. There are many trails to hike around the lake and is 240 feet deep. I decided to take the boat across to hike up to Hidden Falls and Inspiration point. Guess I didn’t learn from my hike in Yellowstone. Anyway, got there early, this place is packed by noon, cars parked out on the road. So Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point is a almost 6 miles round trip, but here is the kicker, 870 feet elevation climb up the mountain. Some parts of the trail was closer to rock climbing than walking a trail. Half way up was thinking of returning, but since I was that close, only live once. I went for it and was was great. Still not used to the elevation and I am not the only one I found out. Anyway a beautiful walk up, there were some points in the trail that there was just rock on one side and a cliff down on the other. My foot slipped on the way down, surprised I didn’t shit myself.
It appears that when I am one vacation or traveling, I get more exercise than when I am at home. One of the pictures has the dock and inspiration point in a red box to try to show the elevation up. I ended the day at Deadman’s Bar in the lodge by the campground I am staying at. Had some Jenny Lake Lager and fish tacos (Trout), the best fish tacos I have ever eaten. Tomorrow I start my trip back, hope to get some pics from top of signal mountain in the morning, today it was to foggy.
Wow, amazing views!!! And might i add that vans getting it… pedal to the metal there jimmy boy!
