My 2nd to last stop before driving back to Nashville. I thought this state park would be interesting, there are 16 caves to explore. The morning didn’t start out so well, a nice storm in the morning so it could be humid in the afternoon. I think this might be a nice place to explore in the spring or fall when it would be cooler, also you could wear better clothing. Crawling around in caves with shorts on doesn’t appear to be the smartest thing, they do have washing stations to rinse off the bat waste. Some of the ‘caves’ are no more than a hole in the hill, while others you can walk into, but not far. There was bat activity in a few of the larger caves. The trails are nice and they built walkways and stairs to get to some of the caves.
Well my 7 month Odyssey will be coming to an end. What a trip it has been, I started in Florida last December and I now end in Iowa, that’s 19 states that I traveled and posted about 86 interesting places. Learn about many things and seen many things. I guess I picked the hottest time to return, I am presently on the west bank of the Mississippi river and today there is a nice breeze off the river, so it is allot more tolerable outside. I will be back home for a few months to plan my trips to the eastern states and of course my big trip next summer to ‘Alaska’.. I have only visited 26 states, so I have a few more to go. Tomorrow I cross over into Illinois and onward to Tennessee.
