Sequoia National Forest

Sequoia National Forest

So, I was able to see these very HUGE trees today. I set out this morning for Sequoia National Forest and stopped at the ranger station to see what I am able to access. I can see now why I was so confused reading online. Here is the deal, Sequoia National Forest National Park, closed possible opening July. Kings Canyon National Park closed for the year, these parks share the same roads. Sequoia National Forest is connected to both parks. Most roads closed in the national forest, only one campground open(partially). So tomorrow, we do the same for Yosemite.

Had a wonderful drive up the mountain today, so picturesque. I was able to see the giant Sequoia’s in Grant Grove, the General Grant tree is believed to be 1600 to 2000 years old and 107 ft in circumference. These trees are technically in Kings Canyon. So my drive started in the National Forest, enter the Kings Canyon gate then you will be back in the national forest. The farthest I was able to drive was to Hume lake in a valley. Still a great day. Now, pictures do not show how huge these trees are, this is an example of something that you must see this in person. I did have people in one pic to try to show how big these trees are. The lake in the valley was a picture postcard. The last 2 pics are the kings river near the campground I am at tonight, it was flowing strong.
