Route 66 – Part 1

Route 66 – Part 1

As I start my travel east back to Nashville, I decided to take a detour and check out Route 66. I believe Oklahoma has one of the longer stretches of Route 66 than any other state. I started out in Oklahoma City and ended in Tulsa. When I go west in 3 weeks I can check out other Route 66 stuff, so that is the reason this is part 1. I do enjoy taking back roads instead of highways, did allot of that in Texas, so much country to see.

I did this on Sunday, a miscalculation on my part as many things were closed like the Rock House cafe and motorcycle museum. The auto museum was open, so got to see some really cool cars. It still was a nice day and the sun was shining. I started out at the Milk Bottle near downtown Oklahoma City and ended in Tulsa at the ‘East Meets West’ statue, considered the mid-point of Route 66.
