Galveston Island State Park

Galveston Island State Park

I don’t usually post about campgrounds and cities, but this is an exception. The city of Galveston appears to be more tranquil compared to similar cities in Florida. Does not have the touristy feel and is a beautiful area. I stayed on the beach at Galveston Island State Park. I got to say that Texas does a great job with their state parks.

During one of my walks I finally saw a Fiddler crab. I learned about these crabs from a nature walk with Park ranger in St Augustine. These crabs are in the mud flats, you will see holes in the ground. They are only about 1-2 inches in length with a single claw. I was able to get a couple of pictures before he ran into his hole. One of the pictures of stone has the crab, the other picture is zoomed in.
