Meteor Crater

Meteor Crater

Well I stopped to look at a hole in the ground today. Obviously not your normal type of attraction, since it is a one of kind. The cater was created 50,000 years ago by, you guessed it, a meteor. The crater is 700 feet deep, it is hard to realize the size from pictures. It is 4000 feet across, basically 3/4 of a mile.

The energy of the meteor on impact vaporizes the meteor into a liquid. Greater force than the atomic bomb that we used on Japan. Overall an interesting stop.
